Dataset ‘Scottish Smallpipes in A Preview’ Suddenly Missing from Audio Index

Hi Hugging Face Team,

I noticed an issue with one of my datasets and wanted to check if this is a bug. My dataset, “Scottish Smallpipes in A Preview”, had been consistently listed in the Audio → Trending section (recently on Page 1–2). However, after today’s refresh (around 2 AM Pacific time), it no longer appears anywhere in the Audio Trending list — even after scrolling through 60+ pages. Since the trending list normally includes all audio datasets (including older ones with just a single download), this seems like an error rather than a drop in ranking.

The dataset itself is still live and updating (downloads increased to 260 today), and it appears correctly when searching by title. But it seems to have disappeared entirely from the Audio Trending index. Since it was visible on Page 1 just yesterday, this feels unusual.

Could you confirm if this is a known issue, or if something is wrong with the categorization/indexing of this dataset? Since Trending is how most researchers discover datasets, visibility interruptions can significantly affect momentum.

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Blake

It seems it’s a specification.

Thanks, John6666. I was under the impression that the sorting lists included all datasets in a category, and just sorted them in order. I didn’t realize that the 100 pages only includes about 3000 datasets. Still, a drop from the 1st page to lower than 3000 in ranking seemed like an extreme drop for one day. New to Hugging Face though, so I don’t completely understand how the algorithm works. It it’s based more on likes than on downloads, then that would explain it. All good either way. Thanks for taking the time to read my post. Much appreciated!
